It has been over 4 months since R&B singer & songwriter, Zimkitha released her 2nd single of the year titled \u201cComplicated\u201d with Tasha HendrixX. Prior to that release, she had announced that she was working on her debut album which would be released later in the year. It is with great privilege that we announce the official date for Zimkitha\u2019s debut album \u201cThe Black Enigma\u201d as it is set for release on the 18th of September 2024. The album release will be complimented with an intimate start to her tour titled \u201cThe Black Enigma Tour\u201d at the prestigious \u2018South African State Theatre\u2019 in Pretoria on the 21st of September 2024. Following the 4 month break from not releasing, Zimkitha now returns with her 3rd single of the year titled \u2018Baby Vuka\u2019 which is set to ignite the journey to her debut album. The single is about the little moments that define us as humans such as stepping outside to breathe. Those moments aren’t always playing out like that, as depression and anxiety can simmer in, which can leave one laying in bed for hours or days. “Baby Vuka” serves as a reminder to one\u2019s worth and why they deserve to be loved as the world loves them back and all they need to do is to wake up (Vuka) in order to experience those special moments. It is a form of self-affirmations that speak life into one\u2019s world allowing them to also share those valuable words with others, thus sharing their light with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song which is produced by rapper and music producer L-Tip<\/a>, infuses Neo-Soul sounds with Jazz elements through Zimkitha\u2019s reaffirming and soothing vocal prowess coupled with authentic storytelling which is a mixture of IsiXhosa and English languages. It truly sets the mood and tone of \u2018The Black Enigma\u2019 album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Zimkitha<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Zimkitha Kumbaca, better known as Zimkitha is a singer\/songwriter disciplined in music, acting, and writing. While she is from King William\u2019s Town, Eastern Cape (South Africa); she spent her high school career in Pretoria, fine-tuning her songwriting and singing skills through poetry sessions, participating in an indie band, Travellin’ Blak, choir competitions, and vocal training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thereafter, she continued her studies at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in pursuit of a diploma and Btech in Drama & Film Studies. Her acting career has yielded credits on shows such as eTV\u2019s Matatiele playing Nontle, Amazon Prime\u2019s Makoti S2 starring as Qhama, international feature film, Beautifully Broken, Mzansi Magic\u2019s Mzali Wami S1 & S2, as well as S1 and S2 of Mzansi Magic\u2019s \u201cMy Brother\u2019s Keeper\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is her music career, however, that has seen her take towards R&B for collaborations with artists like Marcus Harvey, Bugzito, Beatmochini and Mo Molemi. As a musician, her craft is currently rooted in R&B\/neo-soul soundscapes.
