Premiering on 5 September 2024, Law, Love & Betrayal (LLB<\/em>) follows a tough township lawyer who forces her way into a slick, family-owned firm in Sandton, where she finds that everyone has secrets, just like her.<\/p>\n\n\n

Having paid her dues on shows like The Estate<\/em>, Scandal!<\/em>, MTV Shuga<\/em> and Justice Served<\/em>, Dineo Rasedile steps into her first lead role as Gugu Mabaso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEach episode\u2019s cases are fascinating,\u201d says Dineo. “While obviously fictionalised, this show isn’t make-believe; we’re quoting real acts and cases. I learned so much while filming the show; it was eye-opening to realise how little we know about the law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TV presenter and actor Nimrod Nkosi (Utatakho, Isibaya, The Queen<\/em>) plays Gatsha Gumede, the founder of Gumede & Associates, where a succession battle is brewing. \u201cShowmax has raised the bar in terms of production quality – and the story is enticing,\u201d says Nimrod. \u201cIt’s a unique show set in the glitz and glamour world of law, generational wealth, and scheming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAFTA-winning presenter and actress Pearl Modiadie (Rhythm City, Generations, Scandal! and Black Tax<\/em>) plays Ayanda Gumede-Williams, Gatsha\u2019s ambitious, cutthroat daughter, one of the most brilliant lawyers at the firm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“LLB<\/em> has a mix of everything: law, love, and a lot of betrayal,\u201d says Pearl. \u201cIt will captivate those passionate about law and breathtaking cinematography, as well as those drawn to complex love stories and strong ambitious women in the corporate world. We have great fashionable moments as well! The series features strong characters who each stand out in their own unique way, and the storyline is rich and layered. I\u2019m confident it\u2019s going to leave a huge impact on South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 13-episode legal drama moves between Tembisa and Sandton. Created by executive producer Thandi Ramathesele (a longtime producer on 7de Laan<\/em>), LLB <\/em>is produced by Izwi Multimedia and directed by Nthabiseng Tau (Youngins<\/em>, Outlaws<\/em>) and SAFTA winners Nthabiseng Mokoena (The Wife<\/em>, Gomora, Fatal Seduction<\/em>) and Christo Davids (Spoorloos<\/em>, Legacy, Hartklop<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
