Showmax is the best place to stream this year\u2019s SAFTA nominees, announced this morning. Content on Showmax has 118 nominations – the most of any streamer – with more nominees launching on the African streamer over the next few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Showmax is the streaming home of Shaka iLembe<\/em>, the most nominated title overall, as well as Outlaws<\/em> and The River<\/em>, the most nominated telenovelas, and Binnelanders<\/em>, the most nominated soapie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mzansi Magic\u2019s Shaka iLembe<\/em> – the most nominated content overall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set in the 1700s, Shaka Ilembe<\/em> tells the story of the heroic rise of the iconic Zulu king, played as an adult by Lemogang Tsipa and a boy by newcomer Ntando Zondi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the SAFTAs, the Mzansi Magic series is the most nominated content overall, with 17 nominations. These include Best TV Drama, Best Actor (Thembinkosi Mthembu as King Dingiswayo), Best Actress (Nomzamo Mbatha as Queen Nandi), and Best Supporting Actor (Senzo Radebe and Wiseman Mncube), not to mention craft nominations for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The epic premiere set a DStv record of more than four million views on Mzansi Magic, with the series going on to become the most Googled TV series in South Africa last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Bomb Shelter Film Company is already at work on Season 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
