Following a successful film festival run where the film was met with widespread praise, Don\u2019t Be Late for My Funeral<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>by award-winning <\/em>filmmaker Diana Keam, will release in selected cinemas nationwide on Friday 20 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film Don\u2019t Be Late for My Funeral <\/em><\/strong>takes viewers on a personal journey of discovery and grief. Seeking a deeper understanding of her family\u2019s history, the filmmaker turns to an unlikely yet profoundly intimate source, Margaret Bogopa Matlala, the former domestic worker and nanny who worked for 3 generations of Diana\u2019s family. Venturing to a rural town in South Africa, Diana visits Margaret in her home. As the documentary unfolds, we begin to see the profound impact of Margaret\u2019s wisdom, not only on multiple generations of Diana\u2019s family, but on Margaret\u2019s own family too \u2013 contextualised within the struggles of living in apartheid-era South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
