(Synopsis by Warner Bros.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>editors Pietro Scalia, ACE; Joe Hutshing, ACE; additional editor Hank Corwin, ACE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guest Bio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pietro Scalia, ACE, is a film editor best known for JFK (Oscar, BAFTA wins), GOOD WILL HUNTING (Oscar nom), GLADIATOR (Oscar nom, BAFTA win), BLACK HAWK DOWN (Oscar win, BAFTA nom), AMERICAN GANGSTER (BAFTA nom), KICK-ASS, THE MARTIAN (BAFTA nom), and FERRARI, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe Hutshing, ACE, was born in Los Angeles and raised in San Diego.&nbsp;He earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Oregon.&nbsp;He began his editing career by volunteering as an editor on student films at the American Film Institute.&nbsp;Within a few years he was working as an assistant editor on Oliver Stone\u2019s 1987&nbsp;<strong>WALL STREET,<\/strong>&nbsp;and was promoted to Additional Editor, working alongside Claire Simpson and David Brenner, which earned Michael Douglas an Oscar for Best Actor.&nbsp;Hutshing co-edited Stone\u2019s next next three films with Brenner:<strong>&nbsp;TALK RADIO,<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>THE DOORS<\/strong>. Hutshing and Brenner both won Oscars for Best Editing on BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, as well as an ACE Eddie nomination.&nbsp;On Stone\u2019s next film,&nbsp;<strong>JFK,<\/strong>&nbsp;Hutshing won his second Oscar for Best Editing, along with Pietro Scalia.&nbsp;They also won the BAFTA Award for Best Editing, as well as the ACE Eddie.&nbsp;After that, Hutshing edited films for Adrian Lyne, Curtis Hanson, Lawrence Kasdan and John Woo.&nbsp;He earned his third Academy Award Best Editing nomination for Cameron Crowe\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>JERRY MAGUIRE<\/strong>, as well as an ACE nomination for Best Editing.&nbsp;Spike Jonze asked Hutshing to be an additional editor on his first feature film,&nbsp;<strong>BEING JOHN MALKOVICH,<\/strong>&nbsp;which turned into an indie classic and launched both Jonze and writer Charlie Kaufman\u2019s careers.&nbsp;This was followed by Cameron Crowe\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>ALMOST FAMOUS<\/strong>, which earned Hutshing his fourth Academy Award nomination for Best Editing and his second ACE Eddie award for Best Editing.&nbsp;He then edited Mick Jackson\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>LIVE FROM BAGHDAD<\/strong>, for which he earned Emmy Award for Best Editing, an Eddie nomination for Best Editing, as well as a Best Director Emmy for Jackson.
