The ever popular and irrepressible Soli Philander invites you to join him at the GrandWest Roxy Revue for the launch of his new show, The Passion Gap which runs from Friday, 26 July to 14 September, from Wednesday to Saturday.<\/p>\n

\"Soli<\/a>In the Passion Gap Soli takes a closer look at Cape Town \u201cthe people and city of my heart\u201d. The show features the \u2018Passion Gap\u2019 Ambassador of Cape Town, Gabieba Zuma-Gupta who will walk the red carpet, and the wonderful character Gadija who is ever ready to tell the audience what to stand up and speak about, so have your issues at the ready. The Passion Gap will also feature a\u00a0Haal Uit En Wys\u00a0<\/i>(take out and show) feature showcasing the Mother City\u2019s existing and emerging music, dance and comedy talent.<\/p>\n

During the course of the show, Soli will review what makes Cape Town so special, and sometimes not so special. Soli has gone in search of bucket-toilet lovers, snoek addicts, ManU supporters (what do you call two guys getting married? Man United), narcissistic hair disorder sufferers, yard flowers, two-Facebook skinnerbekke (it’s complicated), Blackberry chargers, the last remaining Stormers supporters, radio presenters with South African accents and Gupta money to put together an unplugged slideshow of who this city does or doesn’t work for.\u00a0 He is also hoping, by the time the show starts, to have found an example of an honest politician.<\/p>\n

The veteran performer personifies all that is great about Cape Town.\u00a0 The award-winning performer, with more than 20 years experience under his belt, became a household name nationally with TV programmes such as\u00a0Liriekeraai<\/i>,\u00a0Are you smarter than a 5th<\/sup>\u00a0grader,\u00a0<\/i>and more recently\u00a0Liefling\u00a0<\/i>on Kyknet. Soli is also a veteran radio personality and the founder of Cape Town-based online radio station\u00a0The Taxi,\u00a0<\/i>on which he is the headline presente<\/p>\n

Doors open at 8.00pm and the curtain will be raised at 8.30pm.\u00a0 Tickets are available from Computicket at R78.00.<\/p>\n
