The filmmaking team behind 2011\u2019s celebrated film \u201cThe Muppets\u201d reunites as Disney\u2019s \u201cThe Muppets \u2026 Again!\u201d kicked off production last week in London. The all-new global Muppets adventure welcomes Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey to the mayhem, along with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Walter and rest of the Muppets. The film is directed by James Bobin (\u201cFlight of the Conchords,\u201d \u201cDa Ali G Show\u201d), who was just nominated for a BAFTA for \u201cThe Muppets\u201d (Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer), and produced by the Academy Award\u00ae-nominated team of David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (\u201cThe Fighter,\u201d \u201cThe Proposal\u201d). With a screenplay by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller (\u201cThe Five-Year Engagement\u201d), who is also executive producer with John Scotti, \u201cThe Muppets \u2026 Again!\u201d will feature music from Academy Award\u00ae-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie (\u201cFlight of the Conchords\u201d), who won an Oscar\u00ae for best original song for \u201cThe Muppets\u201d (\u201cMan or Muppet\u201d). The new film will hit the big screen March 21, 2014.<\/p>\n

\"Muppets<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to be back working with the Muppets,\u201d said Bobin, \u201csome of them even remember my name occasionally now. As for the movie, it\u2019s a tip of the hat to the old-school crime capers of the \u201960s, but featuring a frog, a pig, a bear and a dog\u2014no panthers, even pink ones\u2014along with the usual Muppet-y mix of mayhem, music and laughs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disney\u2019s \u201cThe Muppets \u2026Again!\u201d takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe\u2019s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine\u2014the World\u2019s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit\u2014and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais, creator of \u201cDerek\u201d and the Golden Globe\u00ae- and Emmy\u00ae-winning series \u201cThe Office\u201d and \u201cExtras.\u201d The film stars Golden Globe-, Emmy- and SAG Award\u00ae-winning actress and writer Tina Fey (\u201c30 Rock,\u201d \u201cMean Girls,\u201d \u201cDate Night\u201d) as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (TV\u2019s \u201cModern Family\u201d) as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.<\/p>\n

Said Kermit the Frog, \u201cThis movie takes us places we\u2019ve never been before. And trust me\u2014this frog has never seen so much international flavor. I think audiences will eat it up\u2014the entertainment, that is.\u201d<\/p>\n
