The film centres on Cape Verde’s most famous transgender activist: Tchinda Andrade.

“She was the first to open the way for others to express themselves,” says Serena. “Tchinda is a natural leader.” She has been so influential that the trans community in Cape Verde are referred to as “tchindas” by locals.

“It’s very special to premiere the film in South Africa with Jozi Film Festival. It gives another perspective of the continent and we hope people from Jozi will love it”, said Marc.

FILM INDUSTRY TALKS – 23 SEPTEMBER 2017

JFF is pleased to announce a new partnership with AACA (African Academy of Cinematic Arts).
