The Wedding Bashers kick off with a bang\u2026 and some tequilas!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In tonight\u2019s premiere episode of M-Net\u2019s brand new original format The Wedding Bashers, two South African couples went head-to-head, vying for the ultimate prize package: over R800\u00a0000 worth of prizes. Included in the spectacular prize are R250\u00a0000 cash from M-Net, designer appliances from Gorenje worth R200\u00a0000, a seven night second honeymoon courtesy of The Moorings and Air Seychelles, R100\u00a0000 worth of jewellery from Jack Friedman and R100\u00a0000 of make-up and cosmetics from Essence, Caribbean Tan, Lov and Catrice cosmetics.<\/p>\n

Each week, four celebrity Wedding Bashers \u2013 Cindy Nell, Siba Mtongana, Denise Zimba and Zavion Kotze – will make their way to nuptial celebrations across the country where they will join in the festivities and then discreetly rate the Big Day. \u00a0As the show\u2019s resident fashion expert, Cindy has been tasked to share her thoughts about the wedding gown, garments and accessories while Siba will dish out remarks on the culinary experience. Zavion will evaluate everything \u00a0that brings \u2018fabulosity\u2019 to the event, or not \u2013 from the overall d\u00e9cor to the theme, flower arrangements and visual impact. To impress Denise, there should be proof that the guests had an amazing time, with on-point entertainment of course.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s couples were DIY-ers Riandi and Dewald, whose industrial wedding took place in an abandoned flour mill factory in Potchefstroom, and a Lebanese \/ Portuguese mash up, courtesy of Johannesburg-based Taryn and Franco, who relied on some serious family ties to bring their event together at the trendy Jo\u2019burg inner city rooftop venue of The Living Room in Maboneng . While the basher squad clearly enjoyed themselves at each wedding \u2013 especially party girl Denise \u2013 at the end, their individual ratings about the food, the d\u00e9cor, fashion and entertainment went into a secret ballot that will only be revealed at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Despite the celebrity squad\u2019s feedback, however, viewers can have their say too by rating the weddings on www.mnet.tv\/weddingbashers<\/a>. At the end of the season, the winning couple of the viewers\u2019 ratings will win a five night second honeymoon on a group yacht from The Moorings and Air Seychelles, along with R50\u00a0000 worth of jewellery from Jack Friedman jewellers. Viewers can rate each wedding only once to make their opinion heard at the end of the series. Fans have until 22:00 every Tuesday to rate each set of nuptials.<\/p>\n

The 22 weddings featured in the show may vary in budget, opulence and theme and whether its set on a beach, in a vineyard, an industrial chic area or a five-star train, the Wedding Bashers\u2019 comments and criticism will always be outweighed by an important golden thread: the love that inspired the occasion.<\/p>\n
