The Academy Science and Technology Council will present \u201cHidden Figures\/Modern Figures: A Journey of Breakthroughs in Cinema and Space Travel<\/a>,\u201d in collaboration with NASA, on Wednesday, November 29, at 7:30pm at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The evening will feature a panel discussion with NASA scientists and \u201cHidden Figures\u201d filmmakers for an examination of the past, present and future in space math, diversity and the movies. Moderated by former Deluxe\/EFILM Executive Beverly J. Wood, panelists include Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler, Oscar\u00ae-nominated writer-director-producer Theodore Melfi, film editor Peter Teschner, cinematographer Mandy Walker, NASA chief historian Dr. Bill Barry and NASA engineers Tracy Drain, Jennifer Trosper and Powtawche Valerino.<\/p>\n
