Weiss has directed numerous televised events, including 17 Tony Awards\u00ae shows. Other directing credits include \u201cThe Kennedy Center Honors,\u201d \u201cBillboard Music Awards,\u201d \u201cBET Awards,\u201d \u201cPeter Pan Live!,\u201d \u201cDick Clark\u2019s Primetime New Year\u2019s Rockin\u2019 Eve with Ryan Seacrest,\u201d \u201cPrimetime Emmy Awards\u00ae,\u201d \u201cLive from Lincoln Center,\u201d \u201cMacy\u2019s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular,\u201d \u201cGarth Brooks, Live from Las Vegas\u201d and the \u201cAmerican Music Awards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rob Paine<\/strong> has been associated with the Oscars\u00ae telecast for more than 20 years and returns as the supervising producer. Paine has more than 200 television events to his name and has earned six Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Peabody Award. His other credits include 12 Super Bowl Halftime Shows, \u201cThe Kennedy Center Honors\u201d and the \u201cPrimetime Emmy Awards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Production designer <strong>Derek McLane<\/strong> returns to the Oscars for a sixth consecutive year. McLane has earned Primetime Emmy nominations for every year he\u2019s worked on the Oscars telecasts and won in 2014. His other television credits include \u201cHairspray Live!,\u201d \u201cThe Wiz Live!,\u201d \u201cPeter Pan Live!\u201d and \u201cThe Sound of Music Live!\u201d McLane also has designed sets for several acclaimed Broadway productions and is currently designing for \u201cMoulin Rouge! The Musical.\u201d He won a Tony Award\u00ae for his work on the drama \u201c33 Variations\u201d and was Tony-nominated for \u201cAnything Goes,\u201d \u201cRagtime\u201d and \u201cThe Pajama Game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Returning as head writer is<strong> Jon Macks<\/strong>, an eight-time Primetime Emmy nominee. This is his 21st time writing for the Oscars, and he has received three WGA Award nominations for the telecast. In addition to his work on the Oscars, Macks wrote for 22 years on the \u201cTonight Show with Jay Leno\u201d and writes for Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Chris Rock and Martin Short.<\/p>\n<p>Also returning is writer <strong>Dave Boone<\/strong>, a 10-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee, who won twice as head writer of the \u201cTony Awards.\u201d Boone has written for 11 Oscars telecasts, dating back to the \u201c70th Oscars,\u201d with host Billy Crystal. He has also served as head writer of \u201cThe Kennedy Center Honors,\u201d \u201cThe Screen Actors Guild Awards\u201d and the \u201c87th Oscars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carol Leifer<\/strong> also joins the show as a writer, and has written for the Oscars telecast seven times. Other writing credits include \u201cSeinfeld,\u201d \u201cSaturday Night Live,\u201d \u201cThe Larry Sanders Show,\u201d \u201cModern Family,\u201d \u201cPrimetime Emmy Awards\u201d and the \u201cTony Awards.\u201d Leifer was discovered by David Letterman and appeared on \u201cLate Night with David Letterman\u201d 27 times. She is a four-time Primetime Emmy nominee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harold Wheeler<\/strong>, music director, returns for his fifth Oscars telecast. An accomplished orchestrator, composer, conductor, record producer and arranger, Wheeler has received multiple Emmy and Tony Award nominations as well as an NAACP Theatre Award for lifetime achievement. His television credits include the \u201cPeople\u2019s Choice Awards,\u201d \u201cAFI\u2019s 100 Years\u2026\u201d series and 17 seasons of \u201cDancing with the Stars.\u201d Wheeler also composed music for two Democratic National Conventions and the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympics. On Broadway, he has orchestrated musicals including \u201cHairspray,\u201d \u201cThe Full Monty,\u201d \u201cDreamgirls,\u201d \u201cThe Wiz\u201d and \u201cPromises, Promises.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taryn Hurd<\/strong> rejoins the Oscars telecast team for the fifth consecutive year as talent producer. She also has served as talent producer on the past four Governors Awards ceremonies along with numerous variety television specials and award shows.<\/p>\n<p>Lighting designer<strong> Robert Dickinson<\/strong> returns for his 29th Oscars show. He has won 18 Primetime Emmy Awards, including three for Oscars telecasts. Additionally, Dickinson has been honored with two Daytime Emmy Awards. His credits include \u201cThe Kennedy Center Honors,\u201d \u201cGrammy Awards\u00ae,\u201d \u201cPrimetime Emmy Awards,\u201d \u201cTony Awards\u201d and \u201cAcademy of Country Music Awards\u201d; Olympics ceremonies in Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Athens and Vancouver; the ceremonies of the European Games in Baku; and the specials \u201cPeter Pan Live!\u201d and \u201cThe Sound of Music Live!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raj Kapoor<\/strong> joins the Oscars for the second consecutive year, as co-producer, overseeing screen content and performances. Kapoor\u2019s recent credits include seven \u201cGrammy Awards,\u201d Disneyland\u2019s 60th Anniversary, ABC\u2019s \u201cGreatest Hits\u201d and the \u201cRadio Disney Music Awards.\u201d Kapoor has mounted numerous large-scale international tours for Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Soul 2 Soul, One Republic, American Idol, Jason Aldean, Shania Twain, Juanes, Jewel, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and Rascal Flatts.<\/p>\n<p>The 90th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre\u00ae at Hollywood &amp; Highland Center\u00ae in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network at 8 p.m. ET\/5 p.m. PT. The Oscars, produced by De Luca and Todd and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, also will be televised in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
