The superb cast of 40 is backed by The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra playing Leonard Bernstein\u2019s magnificent score which includes the world famous songs \u201cSomething\u2019s Coming\u201d, \u201cMaria\u201d, \u201cI Feel Pretty\u201d and \u201cTonight\u201d. 2018 marks the centenary year of Bernstein\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Shakespeare\u2019s Romeo & Juliet and set in mid-1950s New York, the musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two street gangs of different backgrounds. Tony, a former member of the Jets, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks.<\/p>\n
