The opening day key note conversation will bring together the voices and insights of a diverse range of women form the entertainment and media industry to discuss initiatives to empower women around Africa, helping them to realize their potential and reach new heights.<\/p>\n<p>The panel will be\u00a0moderated by S\u00e9verine Laurent\u00a0(Afrikakom &amp; Francophone Commission of the Observatory of Audiovisual Transformation)\u00a0and will feature industry leading women such as Jemima Catraye\u00a0(ORTB &#8211; Benin), Dorine Gueye\u00a0(A+ &#8211; France), Miriam Selly Diop Kane\u00a0(Radiodiffusion Television Senegalaise &#8211; Senegal), Evelyne Owona Essomba\u00a0(CRTV &#8211; Cameroon), Ana Ballo\u00a0(RTI Distribution &#8211; Cote D\u2019Ivoire), Sandra Basset (TV5 Monde &#8211; France)\u00a0and Laura Dave Biassi Fekeu\u00a0(Roots Hills &#8211; Cameroon).<\/p>\n<p>Running parallel to the market, and specifically aimed at a fast-rising breed of talented, multicultural, Africa-trotting independent producers, the Next Gen knowledge-transfer and development program will deliver valuable and actionable information and tools, along with access to unparalleled connections.<\/p>\n<p>Digital processing channels and the media landscape will be the focus of this year\u2019s \u2018Africa Rising\u2019 panel discussion presented by\u00a0Cote Ouest. Advertising financing mechanisms in the sector are also high on the agenda and the discussion will see Ren\u00e9 Saal (AdWeKnow), Korede Odjo-Bella\u00a0(Vibe Radio and Elle.CI), Aziz Barry\u00a0(McCann Abidjan), H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Calas\u00a0(Blue Lions Abidjan),\u00a0Jean Marc L\u00e9oni\u00a0(CSE)\u00a0and Bernard Azria\u00a0(Cote Ouest)\u00a0on the panel of experts.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018TNT Networks and Implementation for Africa\u2019 workshop presented by\u00a0African Union Communications\u00a0will look at a powerful ecosystem for the implementation of TNT networks in Africa and experts will share their experiences on different TNT achievements, as well as technological issues and business models of TNT followed by an open discussion on success factors and the economic environment.<\/p>\n<p>Collaborations between North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa will end off the DISCOPRO track with expert panelists Fabrice Faux\u00a0(Canal+),\u00a0Francois Chignac\u00a0(Africanews),\u00a0Jean Li\u00e9 Massala\u00a0(RTG &#8211; Radiodiffusion Television Gabonaise),\u00a0Emmanuel Mbede\u00a0(CRTV), Mohamed Chermat\u00a0(Canal Alg\u00e9rie)\u00a0and\u00a0Hicham Mekouar\u00a0(Groupe le Matin)<\/p>\n<p>In the DISCOMICS program, African experts such as Nick Wilson\u00a0(African Animation Network), Abel Kouame\u00a0(Ivorian Animation Association &#8211; AIFA), Ayodele Elegba\u00a0(Lagos Comic Con), Thomas Imboywa\u00a0(Nairobi Comic Con), Wilfrid Pare\u00a0(Administrateur Culturel Conseiller en Communication &#8211; ABCA)\u00a0Les Allen\u00a0(ICON Comics &amp; Gaming Convention) and Sidick Bakayoko (Paradise Game) \u00a0will presenton an array of topics including eSports, animation, comics in Africa, broadcasting animation, and how to pitch your animation content.<\/p>\n<p>Animation producers will have the opportunity to pitch in front of audience and expert judges once again as Annecy International Animated Film Festival and its market, MIFA &#8211; the world\u2019s top reference for animation films and industry, returns to Africa to scout for the best talents for Animation du Monde 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Two screening sessions will take place at DISCOP Abidjan, Cote Ouest\u00a0is pleased to invite all DISCOP attendees to the Abidjan Screenings which will take place on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00. During this screening attendees will discover in preview the new productions distributed by Cote Ouest. The Africa Animation Network will host the Fupitoons Animation Shorts Festival on the evening of 29 May in the screening room at Radison Blu.<\/p>\n<p>DISCORE, taking place on\u00a030 May, will focus on the growing global recognition of African music and its impact on film, television, gaming, and advertising. A special session will feature global top class panelists such as Yvette Metoyer\u00a0(SuperMusicVision &amp; Guild of Music Supervisors Los Angeles), Mike Strano\u00a0(ONGEA!
