Transcending ego and connecting to\u00a0truth enables the actor to relinquish fear, build confidence and embody honesty in performance.<\/p>\n<p>Coaches incorporate various exercises and techniques including those of Uta Hagan, Stella Adler,\u00a0Ivana Chubbuck and Sandford Meisner to help the actor build a solid acting foundation in preparation\u00a0for performance on film.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop is designed for the new actor as well as the professional, looking for re- inspiration. It\u00a0culminates in the performance of a scene for filming and a monologue for live performance.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop will cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using the body as an instrument in overcoming barriers to authenticity.<\/li>\n<li>Trusting instinct and honoring impulse<\/li>\n<li>Innovative techniques to memorize lines and blocking.<\/li>\n<li>Script Analysis<\/li>\n<li>Motivation and uncovering subtext<\/li>\n<li>Developing a character<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Workshop Schedule: 3 hours per class, twice per week, for six weeks<br \/>\nEntry Requirements: None.<\/p>\n<p>Cost: R6 950.00 (includes all training material and certificate of completion).<\/p>\n<p>Students who complete the workshop are encouraged to move on to Acting for Film II, where they\u00a0will acquire further skills and prepare for work in front of the camera. Many of our part time\u00a0workshop students have gone on to enroll in our dynamic and popular 2 Year Acting for Film\u00a0Program.<\/p>\n<h2>Acting for Film II &#8211;\u00a0Finding Emotional Truth<\/h2>\n<p>Date: 23 July &#8211; 29 August \/ Days: Mon &amp; Wed \/ Times: 5:30pm-8:30pm<\/p>\n<p>The emotional self is the key to unlocking the psyche. Knowing how we are shaped by our life\u00a0experiences and understanding their role in our psychological development, enable the actor to\u00a0harness emotional truth and deliver dynamic performances.<\/p>\n<p>Defining pivotal moments in the actors life, unpacking and owning these, help to further break down\u00a0blocks to honesty in performance. Using techniques and exercises developed by Lee Strasberg, Susan\u00a0Batson, Sanford Meisner and other master practitioners, allow students to further explore, develop<br \/>\nand deepen their understanding of textual analysis, acting and performance.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop is designed for the intermediate actor or professional wishing to hone their craft. The\u00a0workshop culminates in the performance of a scene for filming and a monologue for live\u00a0performance.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop will cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sense and Affective Memory<\/li>\n<li>Substitution<\/li>\n<li>Moment before<\/li>\n<li>Public persona\/ private moment<\/li>\n<li>Tragic flaw<\/li>\n<li>Alba emoting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Workshop Schedule: 3 hours per class, twice per week, for six weeks<\/p>\n<p>Entry Requirements: Acting for Film I \/ Equivalent in Industry Experience<\/p>\n<p>Cost: R6 950.00 (includes all training material and certificate of completion).<\/p>\n<p>Students who complete the workshop are encouraged to move on to Acting for Film III, where they\u00a0will acquire further skills and prepare for work in front of the camera.
