A two-day pitching forum for feature film scripts and projects will take place at the Cape Town Film Market, V&amp;A Waterfront, Cape Town, October 10-13.<\/p>\n<p>After the success of the WGSA Pitch Program 2017, the Writers&#8217; Guild is again seeking developed and production-ready\u00a0projects from both experienced and emerging\u00a0South\u00a0African writers. The forum is open to both WGSA members and non-members.<\/p>\n<p>Selected projects will be pitched to local and international experts over two sessions. Pitches will be narrowed to a final round, where international festival programmers and consultants will award prizes, including production sponsorship to the value of R200,000, script and project consultancies and international festival strategy consultations.<\/p>\n<p>Writers of the selected projects must take part in a WGSA Pitch Readiness Session, which will be held in major cities prior to the Market. This session is external to the Cape Town Film Market and carries a nominal cost of R300 for non-members and R150 for WGSA members. All attendees of the WGSA Pitch Readiness Session will receive two complimentary Cape Town Film Market Badges, worth R1000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants must submit the following materials to have their project considered for selection for the Scriptwriting Pitch Program:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Motivation \/ Introduction of the project (300 words)<\/li>\n<li>One Page Outline, including title, logline and synopsis.<\/li>\n<li>Full feature film script<\/li>\n<li>WGSA Script Registration number (recommended). See more information <a href=\"http:\/\/writersguildsa.org\/membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Biographies of writer and any key attachments: director, producers, production companies, etc.<\/li>\n<li>WGSA Membership details (where applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Budget top sheet and production schedule (where applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Materials are to be submitted via email to <a href=\"mailto:ctpitch@writersguildsa.orgdsa.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ctpitch@writersguildsa.org<\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Deadline 14 September.<br \/>\n<\/span>Projects selected for the WGSA Pitch Program will be \u00a0announced on 21 September 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The WGSA and the Cape Town International Film Market and Festival are committed to transformation and empowerment within the industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants may apply for a waiver of payment for the Pitch Readiness Workshop, which will be considered on a case by case basis.\u00a0 Please supply a one page letter of motivation for the waiver.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From 10 -19 October, 80 Feature Films, 20 documentaries and 66 short films will be screened at various venues at the V &amp; A Waterfront.
