Cancelling was not an option \u2013 we really wanted to find a way to make the Festival happen \u2013 for the artists, for our stakeholders, and for you, our audience.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;So, in a giant leap of faith, we\u2019re doing something we\u2019ve never done before. With the help and support of our sponsors, artists, and audience, the 46th National Arts Festival will be a virtual festival. It&#8217;s a challenging time for &#8216;business unusual&#8217;, and we know that if anyone is up to an agile, creative response, it&#8217;s South Africa&#8217;s artistic community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held from 25 June to 5 July, the portal to the experience will be the National Arts Festival website. Here, audiences will be able to experience streamed, live performances, pre-recorded concerts, virtual, immersive exhibitions, poetry and stage readings, interactive workshops and webinars. While some content will be behind a paywall, there&#8217;ll also be free content as the National Arts Festival is committed to reaching as many people as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalartsfestival.co.za\/virtual-naf\/how-virtual-naf2020\/?utm_source=National+Arts+Festival&amp;utm_campaign=d3b3d92a3c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_3_5_2018_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_d2398227f0-d3b3d92a3c-259176245\" target=\"_blank\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your chance to Talk to the Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This concept of a virtual festival format has everyone asking questions \u2013 including us. We have a list of FAQs on our website that we hope answer some of the more obvious questions \u2013 and we\u2019ll keep adding to this as we go along. We&#8217;re also holding a \u2018Talk to the Team\u2019 session, where both artists and audiences will be able to ask the people at NAF questions directly. So please make note of the date \u2013 Tuesday 21 April. We\u2019ll let you know the time and format of this panel event closer to the time. How we are all still standing is a small miracle.
