Who Will Be The First Dancing Couple To Waltz Off Dancing With The Stars SA

Time is running out! Register before Sunday’s live show to make your vote count!

This week Sunday (18 February) is make or break for the twelve celebrities and their professional dancing partners who are putting their best foot forward to clinch the title of SA’s dancing queen or king in M-Net’s Dancing With The Stars SA. It’s time to find out which dancing pair will be eliminated from the competition.

“Prepare yourself for an evening of razzle and dazzle, emotional highs and lows, and plenty of suspense,” says M-Net Channels’ Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.

All eyes will be on the show’s leaderboard, because from this week onwards the voting public and the panel of judges will have a 50/50 say in determining the ranking of the dancing pairs. The two pairs who find themselves at the bottom will then have a dance-off to persuade the judges into staying in the game.

Viewers will be able to cast their votes to impact the leaderboard when the Dancing With The Stars SA live extravaganza kicks off at Hyde Park Corner at 17:00 until 19:15. And, to add even more drama and excitement to the event, M-Net has added a half-hour live results show to its  Sunday night line-up.  The Dancing With The Stars SA Live Results Show will take place at 20:00, just after Carte Blanche and before the Sunday night blockbuster, which will start at 20:30 from Sunday 18 February onwards.

This is what the overall leaderboard looks like as the show heads into the viewers’ vote next week:

  1. Zola Nombona: 27
  2. Vanes-Mari du Toit:  26
  3. Connell Cruise: 25
  4. Eden Classens: 24
  5. Ebenhaezer Dibakwane: 23
  6. Thembisa Mdoda: 21
  7. Juanita de Villiers: 21
  8. Liesl Laurie: 20
  9. Frank Opperman:  20
  10. Odessa Swarts: 20
  11. Delron Buckley: 18
  12. Thando Manana: 17

As the voting will be live and the results will be announced on the same evening, M-Net has put some mechanisms in place to streamline the voting process. In a first for the channel, voting will be via the M-Net website or mobi-site only and you have to pre-register before 16:30 on Sundays to have a say in the outcome of the competition.

“The registration is quick and easy and it’s once-off,” Lombard says.  “In other words, once you are on the voting roll, you are eligible to cast your vote for the entire season. If you haven’t done it yet, please do it NOW, as we won’t be able to process any new registrations after the cut-off time. The dancing pairs are relying on you to keep them on the dance floor and it will really be be sad if your favourite couple leaves because you couldn’t support them.”
