Disney+, the streaming service from The Walt Disney Company Africa, kicked-off its launch event last night with an spectacular South African takeover that delighted attending South African celebrities, influencers, media and special guests.
The stunt was a completely CGI-driven journey across South Africa and included live broadcast links from Durban (Moses Mabhida Stadium), Cape Town (The “Silos” At The Zeits Museum) and Johannesburg (Soccer City) as Disney+ arrived at each location and created some magical memorable moments to signal that Disney+ has arrived. Without giving too much away the stunt included both light projections and a fireworks display. The takeover was also live-streamed into the launch event on 18 May from the Jody Scheckter Paddock Area at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, where it was experienced by celebrities, influencers and prominent figures in the entertainment industry who was in attendance.
