Just a few months after releasing the first song of Inhoud Huis Musiek ’s new praise and worship platform, The Shelter , Arnold de Wet is back in the spotlight with a brand-new worship song that speaks to the heart.
EL SHADDAI, which he created with Johan Vorster and Francois Lessing, was inspired by the belief that you can find peace and comfort in God’s arms when you are going through difficult times.
“In Psalm 131, David says that he finds peace and comfort with God, like a baby in his mother’s arms. EL SHADDAI is the name of God that captures this idea”, explains the gospel singer. “Just like a baby in his mother’s arms has everything he needs; God provides everything we need.”
This song is a source of hope in the difficult times we are currently facing, and Arnold believes that it will appeal to listeners of all ages.
The music video, conceptualized by Johan Vorster, was filmed and produced for Inhoud Huis Musiek by Jannes Erasmus and Daniel Rademeyr. “We wanted to choose a location that would depict God’s greatness and chose Naude’s Neck, because it is the highest point in South Africa,” Arnold Shares.
EL SHADDAI follows in the successful footsteps of This Is Who I Am Without You, which was very well received by the public and was the perfect way to introduce Johan Vorster and Jacomien de Wet’s platform for modern worship music to the world.
Arnold grew up in Hartbeespoortdam and is the son of the well-known singer, Jan de Wet. Growing up, he was always surrounded by musicians, which ignited his passion for music.
He entered the music industry more than two decades ago with the release of an album through former record company, Maranatha, after which he set aside his music dream for seventeen years.
It only reignited recently, and after recording his previous single, Run, he crossed paths with Inhoud Huis Musiek, who approached him to form part of their new project.
He is currently busy creating new material for a live praise and worship album, scheduled for release at the end of the year.

Skaars ’n paar maande nadat hy die eerste enkelsnit van Inhoud Huis Musiek se nuwe been, The Shelter, vrygestel het, is Arnold de Wet terug in die kollig met ’n aanbiddingslied wat diep tref.
EL SHADDAI, wat hy saam met Johan Vorster en Francois Lessing geskep het, is geïnspireer deur die wete dat God se arms ’n plek van rus is wanneer jy deur moeilike tye gaan.
“In Psalm 131 sê Dawid dat hy rus en kalmte vind by God, soos ’n baba in sy ma se arms. EL SHADDAI is die naam van God wat hierdie idee vasvang”, verduidelik die gospelsanger. “Soos wat ’n baba in sy ma se arms alles het wat hy kort, so het God alles wat ons nodig het.”

Ons het toe na die Naude’s Neck toe gery, wat die hoogste punt is in Suid-Afrika, en dit was vir ons baie gepas,” vertel Arnold.
EL SHADDAI volg in die suksesvolle voetspore van This Is Who I Am Without You, wat baie goed deur die publiek ontvang is en die perfekte manier was om Johan Vorster en Jacomien de Wet se platform vir moderne aanbiddingsmusiek aan die wêreld bekend te stel.
Arnold het in Hartbeespoortdam grootgeword en is die seun van die bekend sanger, Jan de Wet. As kind, was hy altyd omring deur musikante wat ook sy passie vir musiek laat vlam vat het.
Hy het meer as twee dekades gelede die musiekmark betree met die vrystelling van ’n album saam met die destydse platemaatskappy, Maranatha, waarna hy vir sewentien jaar sy musiekdroom opsy geskuif het.
Dit het eers onlangs weer vlam gevat en na die opname van sy vorige enkelsnit, Run, het sy paaie met die van Inhoud Huis Musiek gekruis en het hulle hom genader om deel te wees van hulle nuwe projek.
