Fans can discover a variety of free-to-play games, thrilling tournaments, and South Africa’s top esports spectacles. VS Gaming returns with their thrilling eDiski and HSEL finals, along with exciting free-to-play zones. Fanta, in collaboration with Xbox, brings a free-to-play area to the Con, interactive activations, quests, and awesome giveaways. The Toyota Gaming Engine delivers four days of non-stop free-to-play action, featuring EAFC, Street Fighter 6, Clash Royale, Brawlhalla, and Subway Surfers challenges. Red Bull Gaming is bringing the Golden Letters Tekken 8 tournament, and PCBuilder and Computer Mania will be showcasing gaming accessories for all PC gamers.

Express Yourself Through Cosplay

Join in and Cosplay at Comic Con – it’s a celebration of self-expression, creativity, and community. Comic Con Cape Town is a welcoming and inclusive space for Cosplayers of all levels. Fans are invited to showcase their creativity, and they could win awesome prizes by strutting their stuff in the daily Casual Cosplay Competition held on the Main Stage. The competition returns on Sunday, 3 May at 16:00 on the Main Stage. And fans can meet international Cosplay guests and learn from the best in the industry, with Yaya Han and Jaremi Carey at the show.

The Ultimate Shopping Destination

Fans should get ready to unleash their inner shopaholic at Comic Con Cape Town. Our dedicated shopping area on the ground floor will satisfy every shopper’s desires. Con-goers will discover a treasure trove of original artwork, comics, and merchandise. A wide range of official and fan-made items, including apparel, toys, accessories, and more, are waiting to be taken home. Fans on the hunt for rare and limited-edition collectibles will be the envy of their friends. Personalised items can be made on the spot by talented artists.

Celebs, Panels, and Workshops

Fans at Comic Con will get to meet stars from popular TV shows, movies, and web series. Comic Con Cape Town has announced the appearance of Dragon Ball Z legend Christopher Sabat (Vegeta), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter), and Jason Liebrecht (Dabi in My Hero Academia). One Piece fans can look forward to appearances from favourites including Callum Kerr (Smoker), Steven John Ward (Mihawk), and Jazzara Jaslyn (Miss Valentine), and so many more. Comic Con also has a jam-packed programme catering to every corner of pop culture. Fans can test their knowledge with quizzes, gain insights from industry pros in interactive Q&A sessions, and take part in creative workshops and discussions – from writing and drawing comics, to learning animation skills, to crafting cosplay costumes and even taking a crash course in Japanese.

Levelling Up Imagination: Tabletop Gaming

Now in the Level 1 Protea Room, fans can step away from their screens and immerse themselves in the realm of imagination and creativity. Free-to-play campaigns for traditional titles like Dungeons & Dragons, Pokémon TCG, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Star Wars Unlimited, all presented by Unplug Yourself. Catan can also be played at the Con.

Artist Alley: The Heartbeat of Comic Con

Fans can immerse themselves in a world of artistic brilliance at Artist Alley. With 111 talented creators, this is the place to discover unique artwork and support the local pop culture art scene. Renowned guests and industry legends John Romita Jr., Ron Marz, Heather Antos, and Phil Hester are spotlight guests at the show. Fans can explore the work of incredible South African artists, including Bill Masuku, Anand Ramcheron, Sean Izaakse, and Andy Mason, along with many more. Here fans can discover one-of-a-kind pop culture art pieces, limited-edition prints, commission their own artwork, and so much more.

The Ultimate Family Day Out

Join Comic Con for a day filled with fun, excitement, and unforgettable memories. A world of toys awaits discovery, along with interactive activities, and kids’ favourite characters walking the halls. Noodle and Bun, the Minions, and Sea Harvest’s Incredible Hake, Omega Mind, and Captain Crisp are all heading to Comic Con for epic meet-and-greets. Kids should also check out Solarpop’s fun activities. At the Takealot shopping experience kids can explore a wide range of toys, collectibles, and must-have goodies from top brands. The Cape Town International Animation Festival will be hosting daily animation workshops for teens where they will learn practical skills from SAE and The Animation School.

Side Quests After Dark

The fun doesn’t have to end when the Con doors close! Join Comic Con for the After Dark events – with all proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital Trust. 30 April is the Comedy Night at Protea Hotel Fire and Ice, and on 1 May Truth Coffee is hosting Coffee and Comics after hours. A selection of our spotlight artist guests will be at Truth to draw on collectible coasters that are included with ticket purchases – an incredible memento to cherish. After Dark events require separate tickets, available on Howler.

Recharge and Refuel for More Con Adventures!

Comic Con Cape Town is more than just a convention – it’s a vibrant festival. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the sprawling outdoor area. Fans can take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Whether they’re with family or friends, fans can soak up the energy, grab a drink or a bite at the Food Truck Village, and enjoy the music.

Engage & Play: Activations

This year, Comic Con has got awesome activations from major brands. Capitec is bringing the Fandom Force HQ, turning Con fans into Heroes. HintHunt returns with escape rooms, and Fanta’s Xbox collaboration features interactive experiences, merchandise, and gaming pods. Burger King is bringing their recently launched Mandalorian & Grogu merch and other treats. Fans can also expect miniature painting, CapeLUG LEGO displays, Dance Dance Revolution comps, and plenty more. 

This year Comic Con Cape Town will welcome 36,000 fans to the CTICC 2 from 30 April to 3 May. The festival is sold out on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but tickets are still available for Thursday 30 April.
