It is going to be a room filled with Top African Leaders on the 21st of November 2017 at the Sandton Convention Center. The ALCA Award ceremony will honour and recognise initiatives making a breath-taking difference and adding a positive meaningful impact in and around the African continent without any financial reward.
Lynn Whitefield the African American Award winning Actress and Thionne Niang the co-founder of Akon lighting Africa will be the Hosts of the prestigious event.
Africa Leaders 4 Change Awards (ALCA) theme song features a mix of rich African talent such as Akon, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Youssou N’dour, Jah Prayzah, 2 Face, Fally Ipupa, C4 Pedro, Danno Peterson. The song will be officially released and performed for the first time at the ALCA award ceremony on November 21, all legends on one stage.
Hakim, one of Akon’s top producers, also wrote and produced “The Song for Africa”.
“The challenge was to try and fit all the great voices together, making sure people go into studio and record and then mixing and mastering the song but when working with artists as these, it can only be great,” said Hakim.
Some of the VVIP guests that will be attending the event are The Former first Lady Graca Machel, Tanzania Former President His Excellency Jakaya Kikwete, the youngest richest businessman in Tanzania Mohammed Dewji, NBA Africa Vice- Pesident Amadou Gallo, Manu Chandaria Foundation, Allan Gray Foundation and many more.
“There is a lot of good work being done by Africans for Africa and our hope is not only to celebrate those who are giving back but to also encourage the spirit of Ubuntu in others. We need to push to be innovative in our entrepreneurship and more so in solving African problems,” says ALCA Co-Founder, Shaleen Manhire Nullens.
