The release of Parts X Fiction’s (pronounced Parts and Fiction) debut single “Mad World”, offers up an electrifying interpretation of the classic 80’s hit. The soulful vocal delivery by lead singer, Miqnon van Jaarsveld, is fuelled by a powerful and solid rock delivery by the boys in the band’s steaming engine room.
“Parts X Fiction’’use songs with meaningful lyrics as a platform to comment on the social problems that surround us all. ‘’Mad World’’ is a perfect example of such social commentary and it conveys how we experience this modern age in all its madness.” – Miqnon van Jaarsveld

The choice of ‘’Mad World’’ as a debut single, prseents a slightly lighter side to Parts X Fiction’s own original material, slated for the band’s debut album release in March this year.
‘’Parts X Fiction’’ is comprised of Mignon van Jaarsveld (lead vocals), Reinecke van der Merwe (vocals, guitar), P.D du Plessis (guitar), Sarel Reynolds (bass) and Nelis Du Plessis (drums). The band met each other through performing as session musicians in various Barnyard theatre productions before joining forces to create an original project of their own.
The band draws inspiration from Anberlin to Iron Maiden and everything in between. ‘Each song of ours is a journey, which anyone can enjoy and relate to and walk away feeling inspired, fulfilled and confident in not only themselves but also our own culture.’
Catch them live tomorrow, 8th February at The Radium Beer Hall alongside The Black Cat Bones.
