Sharoney Releases Music Video “Ons Teen Die Wêreld” (Us Against the World)

Love may be the thing that makes the world go round, but unfortunately fairy tales do not always have a happy ending – a message shared by Sharoney, the bubbly singer from the East Rand’s latest music video.

According to director and producer Wian van der Walt (Vonk Musiek) the idea was that the main character in ONS TEEN DIE WÊRELD’s video experience the five stages of grief.

“We came up with the concept together and wanted to show fans that it is normal to go through these stages when a relationship ends,” he explains. “The grief process takes time and in the last scene we show how Sharoney’s character moves on by going outside for the first time to perform.”

The video was filmed at Schoon Huis Manor and boasts the same lighting style as used in popular television shows in the 90’s.

“I think people will like it, because it has a familiar feel to it. We have also included some amazing, abstract concepts and shots that is going to wow the public,” reveals Wian.

With the release of ONS TEEN DIE WÊRELD just recently several popular radio stations across the country immediately play listed it and it is already heading for the hit parades. It was written by Douvoordag’s Jattie de Beer and is about meeting the right person at the wrong time in your life.

This versatile artist likes challenging herself, has exciting plans for the future and is looking forward to performing again.
