16th president. Across three two-hour episodes, the
mini-series immerses viewers into the world and story
of Abe before Lincoln. A young man looking to make
his mark, who grows into the man who puts himself
in the positi on to lead a young United States through
its’ greatest crisis. By weaving together both scripted
dramati sati ons of important moments in his life and
commentary by authoritati ve historians and public
fi gures, including former President Barack Obama, the
series is a portrait of Lincoln determined to leave his
mark on the world. The series chronicles the evoluti on
of Abraham Lincoln as a man and as a thinker, against
the backdrop of a nati on increasingly torn over
the issue of slavery. As the war rages on, the series
shows how, in part due to the eff orts and infl uence of
aboliti onists such as Frederick Douglass, he comes to
value the importance of seizing the moment at hand to
end slavery in America, once and for all.

experience during the Civil War.

This one-hour documentary takes viewers through
an evoluti on of African American involvement over
the course of the Civil War through the stories of
some of the most crucial and signifi cant fi gures of
the day. They include; Harriet Tubman, Robert Smalls,
Frederick Douglass, the 1st Kansas Colored Volunteer
Infantry Regiment, and the most celebrated regiment
of black soldiers during the Civil War, the famed 54th
Massachusett s Infantry Regiment.
