Die Eindste has been the talk of the town since the release of their debut album at the end of 2021.
And now they are starting the year off with a bang by releasing an impressive music video for their second single, JOU OPTOG, written by frontman André Faurie.
This alternative rock track, which can currently be heard on all major radio stations, is about the impact which the fear of social rejection can have on your life.
Because the message of the song is so powerful and relevant, it was important to them to create a video with a similar effect.
The video, which was shot in Pringle Bay in the Western Cape by Bow Tie Media, shows how closely related negative aspects like rejection and social anxiety can be to positive aspects like hope and love.
“Throughout the song, there is an alternation between positive and negative themes. With the video, we wanted to create something that would appeal to listeners, but that is not commonly used. The actors captured the story and themes we wanted to share perfectly. Items like a torch, which is symbolic of love, were also included in the video,” the group explains.
“Pringle Bay’s beautiful scenery and surroundings also contributed to the feeling we wanted to create and complemented the themes we wanted to address.”
JOU OPTOG is the second single off their debut album, Grys, which was produced by Markus Els of Mark7Studios.
Die Eindste, whose name originated from a conversation between the group members, was formed in 2019, when a group of school friends (André Faurie, Ruan Pieterse and Ian Putter) decided to make music together.
Creating music and videos that listeners can relate to, is very important to the group and their latest release attests to the fact.
