Popular Duo, Jacques And Liezel Releases New Single And Video

“To trust in God in all circumstances and to know where your strength comes from,” says Jacques and Liezel about the meaning behind their new single, VASHOU, which was released a week ago.

According to the talented pair, who has been nominated for five Afri-Indie Independent Music Awards, this contemporary gospel track was written to give hope in difficult times.

“Lockdown has been extremely difficult on all of us, and we have come to realize that God is the only anchor you have to hold onto in these times,” they share. “There are people who have lost so much in the past two years. But despite what life throws at you, we want to remind everyone that if you have God, you have everything you need.”

Their latest release was produced by Jattie de Beer of Artistry Productions and is accompanied by a beautiful music video that perfectly captures the essence of the song.

The video was shot on location in KwaZulu-Natal by the Huntsman’s Adriaan Venner Scheepers, and they are thankful that everything came together beautifully to create the perfect end-result.

“Because ‘deep waters’ and ‘dark sea mist’ are mentioned in the lyrics, we always wanted to film the video at the coast. With the help of friends and family, we were able to go ahead as planned,” they explain. “Our friend and dancer, Megan Knipe, can also be seen in the video and we all worked together to create the perfect story.”

VASHOU follows in the footsteps of Uit My Hande and Wonder van Kersfees, which were both well received and charted on several major radio stations.

Since making their debut in November 2021, Jacques Schoeman and Liezel Marshall has gone from strength to strength.

The duo, who met on Facebook, has big plans for the future. Their first English Country Single is scheduled for release in April, and they are also starting their own business soon.

In addition to music, Jacques also enjoys restoring old cars, spending time with his son and having a braai with friends.

Liezel was part of the gospel group, Onbeskaamd, and has produced one Ghoema nominated album. When she is not singing, she likes horse-riding, photography and spending time with her loved ones.

VASHOU initially started out as a poem but has since evolved into a powerful song that has the potential to change lives.

Jacques En Liezel Moedig Luisteraars Aan Om Op God Te Vertrou In Hartoerende Nuwe Lied En video
