Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics go head to head in best-of-seven format Final showdown
he 2022 National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals get underway this weekend, with Golden State Warriors taking on Boston Celtics in a best-of-seven showdown. All games in this Finals series will be broadcast live on ESPN2 (DStv 219, Starsat 249) followed by repeat broadcasts the following day.
After three rounds of upsets, thrillers, blowouts and everything in between, this year’s NBA Finals will pit some familiar faces against a team with less experience but just as much energy on the league’s biggest stage. The Golden State Warriors, led by three-time champions Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, are making their sixth finals appearance in the past eight seasons. The Boston Celtics will be playing their first Finals since 2010. Both teams are regarded as top defences.
The action tips off with the first live broadcast on ESPN2 on Friday 3 June at 3:00 AM, with the next one on Monday 6 June at 02:00 AM, after which games will air daily at 03:00 AM. Repeats will broadcast the following day after each game at 08:00, 14:15 and 17:15 (CAT).
