You’ve heard it on the streets and have witnessed the undeniable domination on social media. Zotata in its literal meaning has taken over, reigniting the Dezember flame and setting the viral streets of social media alight.
Pcee, Justin99, EeQue and Mr Jazziq have finally given the people what they want by dropping ‘Zotata’ available on all digital platforms.
“The aim behind the song was to make a summer dance song that everyone can relate to and dance to. The song was half done for a week until I decided to call jusstin99 and on the day jusstin99 was in the Studio there was also equee which he came with a beautiful verse that suited the song .” Pcee shares as he speaks on the creative process.
“Working on “ZoTata” with Pcee and EeQue was a feeling I’ve never experienced before it’s like we were all on the same level of thinking and everything just clicked from Pcee and I making the beat and him lacing a sample for me to work with to EeQue coming through knowing exactly what we were looking for so I would say it definitely had to happen.” Justin further elaborates on the creative process.
When talking about the significance of the single EeQue shared “‘ Zotata’ which is initially ‘Zothatha’ means ‘ taking ‘. The reason behind this concept was just us expressing what we want to do in the future , we want to be heard and actually be taken serious. When we first posted the trending videos , the plan was not for them to viral like they did so it was just perfect timing , God’s timing that things went the way they did .”
Zotata is not only a massive hit it is also paired up with huge dance challenge. After teasing the song on their socials many Tik Tok creations soon followed, seeing the sound have over 130k creations and the #zotatachallenge dance challenge with over 30 million views of the hashtag.
