BOBI WINE: THE PEOPLE’S PRESIDENT

This gripping documentary charts the unlikely rise of Bobi Wine, the pop star-turned-politician seeking to end Uganda’s brutal dictatorship.

Born in the slums of Kampala, Bobi Wine, Ugandan opposition leader, former member of parliament, activist and national superstar musician, risks his life and the lives of his wife, Barbie, and their children to fight the ruthless regime led by Yoweri Museveni. Museveni has been in power since 1986 and changed Uganda’s constitution to enable him to run for yet another five-year term.

Running in the country’s 2021 presidential elections, Bobi Wine uses his music to denounce the dictatorial regime and support his life mission to defend the oppressed and the voiceless people of Uganda. In this fight, he must also take on the country’s police and military, which are not afraid to use violence and torture in a vain attempt to intimidate and silence him and his supporters.

American Christian missionary John Chau was killed when he tried to contact and convert some of the world’s last uncontacted indigenous peoples – The Sentinelese. Contradictory and divided reactions from the public and even within his own family reveal a deeper understanding of the real John Chau – a young man with an adventurous spirit and a singular obsession.

APOCALYPSE: THE RISE OF HITLER

We follow teams rebuilding the wonders of Nineveh and Babylon, described in the Bible as cities of sin. Rare aerial footage reveals the majesty of Uruk in southern Iraq and at Girsu, investigators uncover a mysterious set of ruins that could transform how we see the dawn of civilization itself.

Wilderness explorer and survival expert, Hazen Audel has long been an audience favourite as he takes on journeys in some of the world’s wildest places, braving the elements and navigating challenging terrain. Now, the intrepid adventurer takes on his first extreme safari expedition through east Africa’s legendary Great Rift Valley.  

As a former biology teacher, he’s always known the valley as the world’s greatest hub for wildlife. The chance to trek 800 kilometers through its diverse wilderness in migration season and survive out in the open amongst magnificent animals, is a life-long dream. Along the way, Audel will cross grasslands, caves, mountains and river valleys, on foot, in his quest to experience Africa’s greatest natural spectacle, the great Wildebeest migration in the Serengeti.
