Mozambican Rapper and Songwriter, Ason has been on quite a lengthy hiatus since the release of his last single in 2023 “Dragon”. He now returns with a brand new single titled “HERMOSA” which is an infusion of the Afro-Latin sound with laid back Hip-Hop.
“HERMOSA”, is produced by GTP from Zimbabwe who has managed to create a well-blended signature sound for Ason. GTP leaned into the Afro-Latin sound that Ason was going into in order to accommodate his sonic vision.
“HERMOSA” is a song about a beautiful woman, which tends to be Ason’s line of inspiration.
In a brief interview Ason shared, “This song derived from me watching a beautiful woman be pushed away , because a man doesn’t know how to act. Us guys have to be smooth and receptive to the feminine energy, make it a comfortable environment for them. If I see a guy killing the vibe, it just makes me want to separate myself from the situation completely.”
He further expanded his point with, “I enjoy situations where girls can be girls. I have fun when they’re having fun. When I make music, I imagine them listening to it, and what they’d be doing if they heard it. And in those moments, I plot on how to achieve more or succeed more”.
“So this song is basically, mid-thought of drawing inspiration from what I see but I turned it into a song. Those who know me, know that I really set the vibe and my music reflects my real life.” said Ason.
Hermosa means beautiful in Spanish, and the title is exactly that. A beautiful woman moving in a foreign rhythm from everyone else. But she needs to be protected from those who are too intimidated by her power and presence. This is a song leading many more this year as Ason continues to create music for all the girls and guys wanting more in life than just surface level success and happiness.
