Past Lives | First On Showmax | Stream from 13 June
Past Lives, MetaCritic’s best-reviewed narrative film of 2023, is now streaming on Showmax.
Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are torn apart after Nora’s family emigrates from South Korea to America. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York for one fateful week as they confront notions of destiny, love, and the choices that make a life.
Winner of 79 international awards so far, Past Lives was nominated for Motion Picture of the Year and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars this year, as well as for the Critics Choice Best Actress Award for Greta Lee and the BAFTA Best Actor Award for Teo Yoo.
Past Lives has a 94/100 rating on MetaCritic – the highest of last year. Rolling Stone calls it, “A stunning, pitch-perfect romance”; Variety says, “Celine Song’s exceptional debut will have audiences swooning”; and The Hollywood Reporter writes, “It’s difficult to convey the multilayered beauty of Past Lives beyond just urging people to see it and lose themselves in its transfixing spell.”
