Yan Miles is an award-winning editor with years of experience on prestigious projects, and a member of the American Cinema Editors guild.
Yan was recognized with two Emmys for editing some of the iconic TV moments, episode 403 of The Crown titled Fairytale and season 3 finale of Sherlock titled His Last Vow, which also earned him an ACE Eddie Award and a BAFTA TV Craft Award. His win on The Crown was also the culmination of his work on the show throughout the first four seasons and an effect of his longtime collaboration with the director Benjamin Caron.
Recently, Yan edited three episodes of Lucasfilm’s Andor, including Messenger, Who Are You? and Welcome to the Rebellion. In 2020 he edited Netflix’s series White Lies with the showrunner Álex Pina, and in 2018 he worked on Mike Bartlett’s BBC miniseries Press. Since his first credit as an editor on the miniseries The Prisoner, Yan quickly established himself as a prominent drama editor with credits on fan-favorite Game of Thrones and critically acclaimed British shows Primeval, Endeavour, and Fortitude.
His recent work on Sharper is an excellent example of how Yan prioritizes characters and their unique stories while editing feature films. He is also committed to storytelling across genres and formats, which shows in his previous film credits – the comedy short film It’s a Goat’s Life, music horror Rock and Roll Fuck’n’Lovely, and short drama Daughter.
