The search is now on! Disney Africa today announced that it is embarking on a talent search across South Africa for three presenters to front its brand new lifestyle show I Violetta!

The first South African Disney Channel local production, I Violetta is a brand new companion series that will launch later in the year together with the all-singing, all-dancing third season of the hit telenovela Violetta on Disney Channel (DStv Channel 303). Featuring three new local presenters, the weekly series will re-live the best moments of recent Violetta episodes, anticipate what will happen next, discuss favourite characters and showcase choreography, fashion advice and more.

How to Enter

Entries for the first phase of the talent search are now open until 12 June. Disney fans aged between 13 and 18 years can log on to www.disneyafrica.mobi or www.disney.co.za to upload a photo or video to the site.* Once submitted and verified, entries will be reviewed and selected entrants will be invited to audition in front of the judging panel in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Thereafter, the finalists will be invited back to a workshop, after which the three chosen presenters will make history as they begin production on I Violetta, to air later in the year on Disney Channel (DStv, Channel 303).

Violetta continues to be embraced by audiences and we are thrilled to be partnering with local Disney fans in bringing I Violetta to screens later this year,’ says Christine Service, Senior Vice President and Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company Africa. ‘We are especially excited to be able to bring a local production to Disney Channel, a first for South Africa, and an amazing opportunity to showcase the immense talent that the country offers.’

The Violetta Phenomenon comes to Mzansi

The worldwide smash and a perennial favourite with South African viewers, Violetta is a telenovela that tells the story of a musically talented teenager. After returning to her native Buenos Aires with her father from Europe where they lived for several years, Violetta must navigate the trials and tribulations of growing up. Each episode includes original musical numbers from diverse musical genres such as pop music.

In October 2014, local productions of I Violetta launched on Disney Channel in Europe, becoming an instant hit with viewers.

So if you are aged 13 – 18 years of age, love Violetta, have a fun-loving, positive attitude, submit your entries today by logging on to www.disneyafrica.mobi or www.disney.co.za before 12 June 2015. Fans can also go to www.dstv.com for more information.

Fans can catch up on brand new episodes of Season 2 of Violetta on Disney Channel (DStv Channel 303) every weekday at 16:10, repeated at 19:30.
