Forged In Fire S8 New Episodes On History Channel Africa In January 2022

3 January Mondays 20h15:  Forged In Fire S8

Forged In Fire is BACK with all new  episodes from season 8 of the show

The best bladed weapon-makers in the country go head-to-head building everything from Viking battle axes to Samurai swords to Indian claw daggers. There will be new weapons and contestants weekly and stunning tests of their creations. In each stand-alone episode, four new contestants battle it out in a quest to prove they can build a particular weapon better than anyone else, and they’re doing it by hand. This is the show that turns the craftsmanship, legend and excitement of weapons-building into an against-the-clock battle of wits, resourcefulness, and ingenuity. Contestants compete over a series of elimination challenges using the “garage” of tools provided. Each challenge centres on fabricating a component of the overall weapon.

Monday 3 January kicks off with an episode called Fire and Water, while 10 January we find that it’s hammer time in the forge when four smiths have to make knives out of sledgehammers. After the blades are smashed and bashed in a brutal round of testing, the two surviving smiths return to their home forges to recreate the Polish War Hammer in the episode titled Sledgehammer Showdown.  Other new episodes airing in January include Medieval Mystery Sword on 17 January where we find the four smiths not knowing what material they’re working with until they open up a crate and discover one of any number of salvaged metals inside. After a round of testing, two smiths return home to recreate the Medieval Sword of Mystery.

On Monday 24 Jan  the team is challenged to Pick Your Poison,  where atough choice could be a big help for the four smiths, as they have the option of tackling a more difficult first round challenge in exchange for an easier second one.
